Roseanne's Summer Vacation- Chapter 36
The Huey helicopter reached the evening skyline of Gdynia at 8:30 p.m. Murphy looked down at the city centre and directed the aircraft to the main hospital.
It was the building Mr Orville showed the girls on their way to the hostel. It had ten storeys, and the landing bay was constructed right on top. From the air, it looked like a Lego City playset.
Murphy landed the machine right on the red H symbol in the centre of the bay. He had his radio turned off just in case of any unexpected hails. In case of trouble, he was prepared.
The wait was short. As soon as he powered down the engine, a physician in a white coat came running up the narrow, steel staircase that connected the bay to the main building. From a beer can in his hand, it was easy to deduce he was drinking on the roof when Murphy arrived. Alcoholism is the number one recreational activity in the Land of Po.
“You there! What the hell are you doing? This is an unauthorised landing!” the man in a white lab coat shouted.
The physician kept pestering Murphy the moment he stepped off the helicopter. Murphy didn’t even worry. He took out the trusted stun baton and shocked the medical practitioner. Then he dragged the unconscious victim and placed the body at the edge of the bay.
If anybody else happened to interfere, Murphy would gladly welcome them with the stun baton. However, it was unlikely. The public institutions in the Land of Po didn’t care about anything. A helicopter was in the landing bay. So what? That’s the exact purpose of the bay.
He took out a cigarette and lit it.

Nika did exactly the same thing about four kilometres away. Still in the passageway, she finished up what Roseanne had requested her to do.
“Are you done?” Roseanne asked. The girl changed into her official military uniform: a red beret, a jacket, trousers, boots, and a utility belt behind which she stuck Natasha’s Beretta.
Nika disconnected the last drive from the laptop and gave it to her. It landed in the backpack with the rest.
Then Roseanne turned to Thally. “Give me your iPhone.”
“Hell no. It’s the only precious thing I have in my life.”
Roseanne had had enough of this. She smacked the tall girl in the forehead.
“Mr Orville’s life is at stake. Is it so difficult to understand? Besides, you’re the only one with an iPhone. I need it.”
Thally made a sad face like a baby being told off by their parents. “It’s just I never participated in a rescue operation before.”
“Well, at least I have experience,” Roseanne said confidently.
“Seriously?”
Roseanne bit her tongue to avoid saying too much. She limited herself to the bare essentials. “I saved my sister from a crazy nun.”
Thally’s eyes frowned as if she wanted to ask Are you for real? She handed the phone “But don’t smash it, please.”
Natasha approached Roseanne. There was a sign of worry on her face. “I want to come with you. Why don’t you take me?”
“He told me to come alone.”
“Just because he told you, it doesn’t mean anything. You know I can fight. I can be your backup. He won’t even know I’m there.”
“Let’s stick to the plan. If you don’t hear from me by 9:15 pm, you and the rest go to the police.”
Milena, who mainly remained silent, suddenly shot up from the floor and said, “No! We will rescue Mr Orville together!” Her body language was so fired up that even the Pooh bear behind her arm seemed ready to fight.
“This isn’t a committee! The guy has a gun. He can shoot you on the spot.” Roseanne tried to reason.
“What? Do you think that because we aren’t military gals, we can’t look after ourselves?” Nika said.
“Please, let’s do it together.” Natasha urged.
“Like in The Dirty Dozen,” Thally added. “But there were twelve of them… and they were supposed to blow up a Nazi castle. Bad example. Oh! Like in The A-Team!”
“Holy shit!” Roseanne looked at each and every girl. It was obvious they were unwilling to let go. It was unreal that now she had a group of sidekicks at her disposal. She had to think quickly. “Okay, here are the plan adjustments…”
