Roseanne's Summer Vacation- Chapter 48
Roseanne wanted to drive the Honda, but after a brief scuffle, it was settled that Natasha would sit behind the wheel. In this manner, their journey through the city wasn’t as action-packed as GTA gameplay. Roseanne was bored and played some of the Italo Disco music from her mixtape. Never Fall in Love Again by Mistery blasted through the speakers.
Oh baby I will never fall in love again
And I will take tonight, boy, to the very end
No love from me to you
It’s that I have to do
Oh baby I will try my hardest to resist
Oh baby I will never want to take the risk
There’s nothing more to say
And always be the same
I desire only a man for me
Close to me just forever
I desire he can set me free
All the time spent together
Just a man that never leave me alone
I will be sweet and sour
Man having faith in me
Only fall in love with a man like this
“TURN THAT OFF FOR THE LOVE OF GOD OR I WILL CRASH INTO A TREE!” Natasha turned red from piercing ear pain.
“CAN’T HEAR YA, NAT!” Roseanne answered. She took out from her phone casing the tiny photo strip of her and Tae-jun. Without having second thoughts, she tore the damn thing and threw it out the passenger’s window.

The Honda vibrating to the music beat stopped on the driveway of Roseanne’s home. The two friends promised to see each other tomorrow, and Natasha backed the car. Roseanne stepped inside the house.
It was a day like any other in the Juzynski homestead. Her mom was busy in the kitchen, her dad was repairing something in the living room with Enzo swirling around his legs, and her sister was studying.
“Oh, Mom!” Roseanne hugged Liz from behind. “I’m so happy to be back!”
“It’s so good to see you, my honey bun,” she kissed Roseanne on the forehead. “But it’s only been four days. You spend longer periods at military camps, and I’ve never seen you hug me like that upon return.”
“I just missed you, that’s all. Gdynia turned out to be more bombastic than any military camp.”
“How come? It’s just a city.”
“Gdynia will always be bombastic because your mother and I met there,” Roman said when entering the kitchen.
“Dad!” Roseanne hugged him as well. “You met Mom in Gdynia? How come you never told me this?”
“Well, now you know, bunny. That’s why I wanted you to go on that trip. Tell me, have you met any handsome guys out there?”
Roseanne immediately winced. “Boyfriends are overrated. They only want money.”

Roseanne spent the rest of the evening eating a large dinner and doing the washing. The only member of the family who heard the entire truth about what happened during the trip was her sister, Cho.
“You should have given me a call the moment you met that crazy guy,” Cho said. Enzo was sleeping on her bed.
“What good would that be?” Roseanne frowned. “You’ve been hundreds of kilometres away.”
“I would have talked you out of spending time with him.”
“That wouldn’t make any difference. His backpack ended up at the hotel by accident.”
“If you came back a little later from the jet skis, Mr Orville wouldn’t get kidnapped.”
“How was I supposed to know that? I’m not a psychic.”
“Well,” Cho exhaled. “All that matters is that everybody is safe.” The sister leaned to reach for something under her bed. “I’ve got something for you.”
“What is it?”
“Open and you’ll find out.”
Roseanne ripped the Christmas-like wrapping and, much to her amazement, discovered the hardcover edition of Rear-view Teardrops by Anna Dalgliesh.
“Cho! This must have cost you an arm and a leg! Thank you.”
“It’s just pocket money.”
The sisters hugged each other tightly. Cho whispered in her ear, “I agree with what Mr Orville said. Pursue your interest. That’s what makes you special. Dare to be great, Roseanne Juzynski.”
